What makes us different?

We are owned by two veterinarians who have been in practice for over 50 years. They approached the development of this Pet Retreat with a veterinary mind-set.

  • We are staffed 24/7/365 which means there is a caretaker here monitoring the facility and checking on pets in our care 24 hours a day. Your pet will never be left alone on our property.
  • We are situated on 8 wooded acres with ample room for your pet to play on and off-leash. Your pet will not be walked on pavement, as in many boarding environments. Additionally, our individual and large play areas are outfitted with dog- and mud-friendly artificial turf.
  • Our record-keeping from each pet’s stay is meticulous. Each pet’s daily weight, eating habits, potty habits, and behaviors are recorded by our caretakers during their stay and can be referred back to at any time.
  • We have a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) on staff who is available to help assess our boarding and daycare pets as needed. We contact pet parents with any abnormalities that are noted during a pets stay. For example, many pets will get an upset stomach due to the change of environment and increased activity with so many other animals around them. If this happens, we contact the pet parent to discuss what we are seeing and the treatment options we have available for them including but not limited to bland diets, pure pumpkin, over-the-counter probiotics, and even a vet visit if the pet parent is worried.
  • We have partnered with Fur Friends Mobile Veterinary Clinic to accommodate routine vaccines and testing requests for our pet guests as needed during their stays.
  • We DO accept elderly pets, pets on medications (oral and topical), fearful pets, etc. that other facilities often will not accept. A consult with our management team is required before boarding to determine if a non-hospital setting is appropriate for your pet’s boarding.
  • We can accept pets that are fearful or aggressive in a hands-off, secure capacity. If your pet is unable to be handled for whatever reason, we do have the ability to board them in our double-sided runs, so that they can be housed and moved between the sides for cleaning, without someone having to handle them directly. A consult with our management team is required before boarding to determine what setting is most appropriate for your pet’s boarding.

In a post-pandemic world, there are many things we have done to make our environment that much safer for our patrons, our staff, and the pets in our care such as:

  • Veterinarian-approved vaccination requirements for all daycare and boarding guests
  • UV light sanitization in all of our HVAC systems
  • Hospital-grade HEPA filters in all HVAC systems
  • Constant-flow fresh air commercial ventilation in all kennel spaces
  • Water bowls washed and sanitized daily and food bowls after each use in commercial sanitizing units
  • All bedding washed in hospital-grade laundry detergent once daily
  • Daily decontamination aerosolized “fogging” of each area of our facility for total surface and air sanitization
  • Touch-free hand sanitizer stations at each entrance and commonly used doorways
